A good article. Leadership cannot be all routine and structure. One needs to improvise or be spontaneous sometimes. I played violin for 9 years in elementary and secondary school and for the most part it was structure and routine, but for the ones where music was their calling-they improvised and sometimes were spontaneous. These are the great musicians!
I just went to the Jazzfest a few times here in Montreal. Every year we have wonderful free and paid concerts for 2 weeks…..some are routine/structured and others improvised and spontaneous. Good music, but you can tell who the leader is in any band/group.
Life cannot always be routine, there needs to be some spontaneity and the same goes for leadership!
